Artistic Statement
I am interested in exploring movement that challenges our preconceived notions of what is possible for the human body. Rather than simply showcasing virtuosity, I seek to create movements that are acrobatic and non-human, both intriguing and perplexing to the audience.
By using different mediums and tools, I hope to create works that push the boundaries of what is possible in choreography and offer new perspectives on the human form.
I explore movement that challenges our preconceived notions of dance and its ability to reflect humanity, human behavior, and popular culture. Through the human body, I use illusions to investigate the possibilities of the human body and its storytelling abilities.
I aim to foster empathy and understanding around pervasive issues that often go unspoken. Humor and a sense of "trippiness" serve as tools for social commentary, inviting audiences to see the familiar in entirely new ways.
My creative interests span multiple disciplines. By blending mediums, I seek to push the boundaries of what choreography can be, offering bold perspectives on the human form and its potential for storytelling and transformation.

“I can’t recommend Atara enough. She’s a wonderful trainer who has been really helpful in helping me work towards my goals in the safest and most effective way possible. She’s knowledgeable, fun to work with, professional, and an excellent communicator. When I started with Atara, I’d been suffering from bouts of terrible back pain that would always come back no matter how many times I went to the chiropractor and physical therapy (and I’d been going on 4+ years!). Now, the pain has yet to come back nearly a year later, and I feel stronger than ever.”
